I recently damaged a hard drive and lost a lot of music. This is one of the major reasons why I havent been doing many mixes lately.

I left my iPod in the house Friday night as I was rushing to DJ the Julie Dexter/Jaafar concert. Choosing not to listen to the radio, I blindly selected a CD from my Jeep's console. It was unmarked, so when the intro began I nearly crashed my Jeep because I hadn't heard this mix in years. This mix was created around 2005-2006 and is a sexy soulful number featuring artists like Spacek, Cottonbelly and Silhouette Brown. Gypsy Eyes was created to be a Love Jones inspired mix, however when (one of) my external hard(s) drive died I lost the mix. Luckily there's this CD that I burned when I initially started working on Gypsy Eyes; the music mixing is complete, but the drops/movie snippets aren't there. There's no tracklisting on this one because admittedly I've forgotten some of the tracks. Artwork by Ron.One and scratches by DJ F/X. Enjoy The Diamond Soul XXXperience: Culture Shock

Sorry I have Exceeded bandwidth. You can DOWNLOAD at BamaLoveSoul.Com This is by no means a "Best of" mix. It is, however, a collection of tracks that I immensely enjoy by Bahamadia. Although Total Wreck: T.E.O.B. contains almost 40 songs by the BB Queen there are some songs that have been left off of this project largely due to time constraints. BTW, all requests made via FB were honored, lol. I've also discovered a lot of gems after I began to work on this project so there may be a part 2 at a later date. Enjoy! Growing Pains AKA Where's the Music on the Homepage??!!!

Peace and Love everyone! We just want to thank everyone who has been down with BamaLoveSoul from the beginning and has spread the word about us. We also want to thank those of you who have recently joined the family, we are excited and honored to have you. As many of you have noticed, there is no longer a mix on the homepage. Unfortunately, the player that we use only allows us so much bandwidth a month, which we have continuously exceeded. We have upgraded our plan to the point that there are no better plans to upgrade to. So although there may be no music on the frontpage right now (it will return on Mon) it shows signs of our growth which we are very proud of. Can any of our visiting techies suggest a better host/player? We're going to place the mix that was on the homepage onto our podcast page as a download so that those who missed it can hear it and those that liked it can hear it again. Thanks for the love and your continued support! The BamaLoveSoul Crew DJ Rahdu & Junior Star present R.I.S.E. Vol.1 (2004)

This is just a quick compilation I threw together to bring attention to the interview I did with Amel Larrieux that you can check out at http://blog.nu-soulmag.com/. It's a great overview of the many MANY tracks she's created and had a part in over the last 14 years. Check it out and if you dig it or not leave us a LOVE NOTE. BTW make sure you got to iTunes, if you haven't already, and pick up her 2 latest straight to download releases Orange Glow and Don't Let Me Down! BTW, what are your favorite Amel Larrieux (and Amel affiliated tunes)? Also, you get props if you know which book and author inspired the title and artwork for this post. Next Page |
